Boxcar 145 is located in the historic downtown district of Seymour, Connecticut across from the train station. The downtown district has over 40 shops and restaurants,  including antique shops, boutique and specialty shops, tea room, cupcake shop, historic movie theatre, art gallery, and local country auction house.

This place, previously being Tony's Pizza store, was renovated in 2018, adding a bar section next to its dining area. Boxcar 145 opened its door in May 2018, being a downtown bar and restaurant.
